What Cardful is

A vendor sells a card for cash, and that price only ever lives in their own notebook. Nobody else ever sees it. Multiply that across every show, every weekend, and there's a huge amount of real pricing data that never reaches the rest of the market. That's not a small gap. Closing it would make pricing more accurate, especially for cards that don't come up for sale very often. It means cards won't be priced on guesswork, but on what they're actually selling for. Cardful keeps that record, and plans to make it public, so that data isn't locked away with just the vendor who made the sale.

Handing your card to a vendor at a show means trusting them to actually sell it, actually pay you, and not lose it, usually based on nothing more than a conversation. Cardful puts real, agreed-on terms behind that handoff instead of just a handshake.

Right now, if you want to sell a card without giving it away online, you basically need to be a vendor yourself, with a table, a show, a whole setup. Cardful lets you list a card and get a real offer from someone who already has that infrastructure, without needing any of it yourself.

Split percentages, floor prices, who's responsible if something goes wrong: most of this gets worked out verbally, if it gets worked out at all. Cardful puts the actual terms in writing before anything changes hands, so both sides know exactly what they agreed to.
